The HIDDEN number service allows you to be always hide your mobile number when you publish a trip. If you choose this option, we will NEVER display your mobile number on the public site. This means passengers (or other users) will not be able to call immidiatly but they can still contact you with the internal messaging service. To enable or disable the HIDDEN number service, go to My profile > My preferences.
You can still share your phone number safely via the messaging service. We do not encrypt numbers in the internal messaging service. This message is purely private and will never be displayed on the public site. This way, the passenger will be able to reach you and arrange the meeting point and other.
We introduced this service in response to requests from numerous users. Some people didn’t want their phone number to appear unencrypted in their trip publications. Before the HIDDEN service existed, some people were entering false phone numbers in their profile because they didn’t want their number to appear in their trip publication. Of course, this meant that it was difficult for anyone to get in touch with them. We therefore chose to offer this option
